It seemed to happen almost overnight.
Just four years ago, we were dead broke. We had borrowed thousands of dollars from our family for video production gear trying to build our lifelong hobby into a real business.
We went door to door cold calling, grew our instagram by thousands of followers each month and even had several big viral videos on Facebook. Yet, none of it did any more than give us a temporary jolt of excitement. We were still broke and sitting on a 40,000 dollar debt.
We didn’t understand why the advice given to us on YouTube didn’t work. Things got so bad we were forced to give up our office and start working out of our parents garage.
We tried everything to get jobs and none of it produced anything other than a steady stream of low budget requests and tire kickers.
Eventually we had to face the facts: figure it out, or sell it off. So we went back to the drawing board...How could we get prospects to respect what we do enough to come to us?
Then we actually got it.
We went to work unraveling the “peer focused” work we had been doing, and rebuilt our efforts around a “prospect focused” model. It was a small paradigm shift that made a monstrous impact on our business.
